Iron Man 2 - If you liked the first one, you'll like the second one, although there is too much Sam Rockwell and not enough Scarlett Johanssen. The computer effects guys are really the star of the show. I'm not sure I approve of some of the departures from canon, but there you go, it's still entertaining and Robert Downey Jr is still a great Tony Stark.

If you go and see it, there is a little scene after the end credits roll to segway into the upcoming Thor film.

Yeah, but she got a bit lean for the role, and I refuse to support anything that makes her boobs get smaller. She does manage to rock the brunette secretary look and the leather catsuit.

They did cheap out on her special effects though, she never uses her wrist darts or line-slinger. That's why we should have had more of her, and less of Sam Rockwell being ranty, petty, and just plain stupid.

Am I allowed to like Thor even if I am hetero?

Seriously though I thought he was pretty cool when I was a kid. Not really sure why. But my favorite characters then were wolverine, iron man, thor, and spiderman. Probably had something to do with the comics my brother picked up...

Anyway, Iron Man 2 is a must see for me. RDJ is a rare talent, and it seems the whole Iron Man movie franchise is built around his awesomeness, so yay for me!

Good I want to see Iron Man 2, though the previews honestly did not sell me on it.

Watched 'Good Night & Good Luck' last night on TV.
Awesome. I have a new hero who I'd never heard of before.

Apologies to the mod gods for straying into politics but the eloquence & balls of this blew me away:

Saw Zombieland last night. Genius from beginning to end. One of the funnies movies i've seen in a long time, and also the best zombie movie at the same time!! Loved it.

Just a quick one to concur with l-b on Zombieland, and to mention that I saw Iron Man 2 at the IMAX here in the UK on Thursday morning (first screening in the country, and one of the first anywhere in the world, whee!). The projection, screen and audio quality add a hell of a lot to big budget movies like that.

As for the film itself, I loved it. It was funny, gorgeous to look at, reasonably well acted (RDJ just knocks his role out of the park IMHO), great to listen to (and feel, big subs in the London IMAX) and just the right length. As good as the first for me, which I loved too.

And one of the best cameo appearances for a while.

My rather pithy review of Iron-man 2: meh

Missed the Thor glimpse, some poor guy walking out toward the film's end took a nosedive down the theater stairs. Apparently diabetic and his blood sugar was extremely low. So I was the 2nd person to get to him, propped open the back door to get some light into the theater, helped get him back upright so he could drink a little orange juice, and waited for the ambulance to arrive while trying to keep his teenage daughter calm. No idea what happened for the last 5 minutes or so of the movie.

I saw Iron Man 2 on friday. The first one was better by a far margin, but this was still watchable. The Monaco racing scene was every bit as moronic if not even more so than the racing in Driven by Renny Harlin and that's saying a lot! Luckily it was only few minutes in this movie. Instead of moving the characters or the story further, this rehashed many of the elements already seen in the first movie + some daddy issues. Scarlet Johansson looked pretty good.

3/5

Iron Man 2: 5.5/10

Very much, 'meh', as others have said. Still, it passed a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon.

Ironman 2 7/10. If you enjoyed the first, you'll enjoy the second. Nothing special but entertaining throughout.

After seeing it mentioned somewhere, I watched Rec then Rec 2 on the weekend, in the middle of the night with the lights off of course. Really enjoyed these as I'm a fan of good zombie movies (it's more 28 days zombies than your classic zombies btw). Shot Diary of the Dead style (think Cloverfield if you don't know what I mean) and done really well in that regard. Very few movies get my heart racing but the end scenes of Rec were a lot of fun.

The sequel was also quite decent, set immediately after the first (in fact some parts in #2 are occuring during the first movie).

Highly recommended for zombie flick lovers. Oh and they're spanish movies btw, if you have an issue with subitles.

I want to see Iron Man 2 @ the IMAX but I am wondering if it is really worth the moolah-age. Sounds like it is rather meh isntead of being wow!

Finally saw the Blind Side on my flight to Seoul & was really impressed with Bullock whom I normally can't stand. Sappy movie but 7/10.

Book of Eli (same flight): 3/10

Iron Man 2 1/10 Great, wasted 20€ on tickets for this. What a poor excuse for a movie. Look, it's people in iron suits going clunk clunk while moving. Later explosions. The end. I was really looking forward to seeing Rourke again, after The Wrestler, which I liked. I have to admit, I have never read a comic book in my life, so maybe I'm not in the right mindset for this, but why then did I like Watchmen (despite missing twenty minutes in the middle)?

The Wrestler (DVD) - 7/10
Watchmen (BR) - 6/10

Well watchmen is not a comic but rather a graphic novel, its very different from traditional comic books.
