Seems like Hot Lap Mode has high LOD models and more importantly... 4XMSAA...

EDIT: Yes NeoGAF readers... Forza maintains 4XMSAA & High LOD models in hot lap mode. 2XMSAA for normal racing modes.

Is this a photo edit, It looks as if it's true, does the final build have 4xaa.

Some new Max Payne 3 shots. Some shots show more aliasing than others. A mix of PC and console, maybe? Or maybe edge detect?

Is it vertical edges that FXAA, MLAA have problems with? There is an obvious aliased edge on the doormat and doorframe in this pic, where the aliasing doesn't seem so bad in the rest of the image. A2C hair?

IIRC, FXAA has issues with near-axis angles. Yeah, looks like a dither pattern in the hair there.

Heh, that floor tile looks straight out of Max Payne 2.

Then all of those people complaining that this one bears no resemblance to the early titles should stop complaining

Whoa, was thinking that they were going to swich to fxaa but 4xaa seems more cleaner and impressive too. I'm glad to hear more changes have been made apart from the new clearcoat and bloom effects.

The AA is there looking a the picture (I notice MSAA samples on the edge) but you are right, jaggies are more evident how the less alpha on the ps3 version. I suspect too a lower resolution to the ps3 version but not that much. An another bizzarre particular: in the satellite view the foliage appears the same on both platform...

IIRC Al confirmed a while ago that both versions have the same AA (2xMSAA?) while the 360 version had slightly lower resolution.

I thought it was 720p no AA on PS3 and lower res with 2xaa on 360.

You could be right, it's been a while since I've seen screens of either, so I don't remember if the ps3 screens had an extra blur or not.

Battlefield 3 XBOX 360 good quality screenshots. The top and bottom black bars are showing up now.

ya its really interesting how much the 360 version evolved from the beta. could tell that prior to the beta seem like they were going to fork the lighting and rendering resolution but ended up with 1280x704 like the ps3 version.

my thoughts on the shots tho.
those power lines looks like the kind of analytically aa they used for hot pursuit.
http://img.ruliweb.daum.net/data/new...ield3_ss93.jpg

also noticed one shot with screen tearing so no triple buffering

PS3

seems like 2xmsaa, qaa. would explain the full screen blur on ps3.

Something doesn't look right with the horizontal res. Vertical is 720. Looks like some sort of edge filter on both platforms with aggressive edge detection possibly causing excessive blur.

Probably I'm wrong but http://www.gametrailers.com/video/ny...gh-part/722795 infamous2 feast of blood seem used FXAA or a sort of edge detected; I know the link is 540p, but I noticed the linear edges too much smooth for no AA...

might be just the video compression, if thats true then I hope they will patch the core game to support fxaa. Would be amazing.

So is it just me or does the "HD TEXTURE PACK" also alter geometry?
