Are these game servers (which allow you a place to play with others) or master servers (that allow you to find other players and servers)?

From what I've read this is just for the master servers so players will now have to either a) use direct IP to connect to known servers or b) use a third-party game server browser.

Moving this to its own thread.

Well master servers are the important ones. Official servers are rarely any good, and you can always find public servers if the master server is still active, but without the master server to find other public servers or players, these games will have a hard time to keep going.

True, though most of these games are pretty old now. Of the ones on that list that I own, NOLF2 seems to be the most recent at 6 years old. I've been wanting a formal commitment from publishers/devs to a support schedule but even for primarily multiplayer games 3 years is reasonable. Of course, other people will probably draw the line elsewhere but I think the current timetables (for the games I own - at least) seem reasonable. It certainly would be bad if they were, somehow, turning off internet multiplayer capabilities altogether.
