Default Gran Turismo 5 - Coming to PC?

http://derstandard.at/?url=/?id=3293567

Quote:

Bablefish:
Question: Is there a chance that Gran Turismo appears on another platform?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It is very very improbable that GT on another console comes out. Perhaps but it comes on the PC. Particularly at the Chinese market we could promote so the spreading.

Lol, I don't see that sitting too well with Sony fans. I guess we'll watch this space but I don't see it happening any time soon, if ever. I would certainly pick it up if it came to the PC though.

As would I. Strange to think that certain people would be upset if it came to PC.

It would be surprising if they can manage that project themselves though - they don't seem to have that much time on their hands what with GT5 not being nearly finished yet, then will have to receive some updates, some car manufacturors will probably commission some stuff and then there's the long lost PSP game that's supposed to now work closely together with the PS3 game.

This will never happen... I think Sony would have some major issues with GT not being on Playstation exclusively.

I doubt it but I would welcome it if some things where changed!

No billboard trees/low-res 2.5D trees, full high-res dynamic shadows for everything, skidmarks, more geometry/mapping detail on tracks, atleast half as good lighting as Crysis ingame etc becouse I want to make my 8800GTX sweet a little atleast!

If so then sure!

Whats so good about Crysis lighting? GT5P looks very very very photorealistic because of the lighting mostly.

Well I dont know how to say it, how about looking up some Crysis village screenshots at higher detail, especially with lighting intesity tweak. Otherwise there is the 'Bravia' level done for Crysis running with all the tech available in Crysis on Crysis in real-time.

It sure does in replays and especially offscreen photos/video captures, but those make the lighting exposure looks much more realistic. Ingmae though on the TV/monitor it doesn't come up to that levels and looks from dull to good, framebuffer grabs, clean shots show it. Nverthless Ingame it has it's spots to but the photo textures with prebaked lighting cant make it up for all.

All in all it is v.good but nothing wrong in wishing some more when there is spare power to use in excess.

Not to trip to far away from topic with silk shoes but check below...

That is Crysis at all medium settings, you think a framebuffer grab or 'true what you see on screen' would look the same in terms of lighting?

Well the same applies for all games that get a 'light exposure boost' towards the realistic realm through this form.

I'm sure I remember reading a hint that GT could go on the PC back when GT4 was released, and obviously nothing ever came of that.

As has been said I can't see PD having time to produce a PC version as we are still waiting for the PSP version.

Would be interesting to see what PD can do on the PC though.
