Default Medal of Honor: Airborne - Demo

Hi guys,

with all this news around Bioshock, we might miss on another jewel. EA has released a demo for Medal of Honor: Airborne for at least the PC. The few minutes I played with it gave me the impression of a very well executed FPS, with great graphics. Actually, it played much more better as an FPS than the Bioshock demo, but a very very slick FPS that is.

Especially noteworthy in my opinion is how your view moves depending on whether you are moving, running, turning and peeking. It's not as simple as the default bob we've been used to in FPS games. The same goes for the weapon and your arms during all that movement. For some reason it works very well for me, increasing the immersion in the game. This might be the first game were I would dislike it to disable the bobbing.

Don't hesitate, download the demo.

my opinion was that the moh series even though they increased in details, complexity, interactivity ect actually decreased in enjoyability

No more WW2 games, please. The entire concept, down to every military operation in known existence, has been beaten to death.

Dont like WW2 games? Thats fine and dandy. Stay out of threads for them, and dont play them.

I'm entitled to my opinion, though. No one should ever create a thread under the guise that the entire board will be in utter agreement with them. And to state "I don't like WW2 games" is a little thoughtless. I did like them, until they became completely cookie cutter and over played.

Don't get me wrong fallguy, the graphics alone will probably make me try out the demo, seeing as I'm a huge graphics guru. I'm just not expecting too much in terms of anything really groundbreaking, game play wise.

My impression from playing this demo? It's the same old Medal of Honor, only this time shinier and with more bloom.

Still enjoyable though.

UNREAL 3

AA in 8xx series with Nhancer - select the R6 las vegas compatibility or rename the exe with "Bioshock" with the 163.44

I had quite a bit of fun with this, even though I dislike the WW2 theme generally it seems a well executed shooter. I like the dynamic levels - much better than COD linearity.

Again I'm surprised at how well the UE3 engine performs on my last gen kit. I was a bit worried after Rainbow 6 : Vegas, but Bioshock and MOHA both have shown far better graphics yet with what feels like double the performance. Oh and it's nice to see some decent res textures in UE3 at last.

Sure you are. But you made a ignorant blanket statement about a kind of game.

I didnt state that you didnt. I said "Dont like WW2 games?" is a guestion, not a statement like you claimed I made.

What about my opinion did you gather as ignorant? The fact that I detest how cookie cutter WW2 games have become? EA games namely. It's common knowledge EA is milking the MOH series for all it's worth, thinking otherwise is being just plain oblivious. So whatever you ever gathered from the series I can't even imagine it retaining any value whatsoever aside from graphical flair.

Not yet. I will, as I stated before, but my argument is about the lack of anything really new in the series. So I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking. I've played almost every MOH game ever released, so arguing I've never delved into them isn't even an option.

tried the demo, i cannot see how this game is supposed to compete with CoD4, Battlefield: Bad Company and BIA3.

No physics,no impressive gfx, grenade explotions was one of the fugliest things ive seen this year, and i didn't care much for the aiming mechanics of the game either.

I did like how you can drop on to different parts of the map when you die. That was kind of cool. One time I went for a tall roof to "snipe" them with M1...not like it was that effective, but picked a few off that way

Yeah the game seems cool but I have to agree with this. Those explosions are pretty bad.
