Is it valid to assume that margins from now on can be expected to be treated as being 2% higher due to the Q2 inventory write-off?

The inventory amount for June is 46 million less than the last entry.
It gives the impression there's more sitting around they may have neglected to write off.
How do we know they won't be writing off more?

We don't, any more than we know for sure they won't toss in another $50M of "acquistion and integration related" charges in 3Q.

There are always ways for management to gild the lily a bit, but they grow old when they keep appearing quarter after quarter. We'll have to wait and see on both of those items for next Q.
