It ain`t got enough ROP-oomph to rape donkeys, nothing to see here .

Seriously, I guess some ppl looking for a price-war/middle-end alternative should be pleasantly surprised. But the fact that it sucks a serious ammount of juice is not really appealing to that particular crowd, is it?

Yeah, that rule regarding cross-forum discussions...

Before the thread gets locked up, here are my 2 cents. He never said that 2900 XT will be the fastest card ever, make everyone delirious or anything along those lines. There could many things that could have been "pleasant surprise" to people - Valve bundle, as Tim motioned, price, etc. Of course that quite doesn't look great now, but just because as whole the launch turned out to be an unpleasant surprise to some does not invalidate that or make him a criminal - some aspects are a plesant surprise.

It's idle consumption is lower than that of the GTS!

I drank a beer on that..

then lit three incense sticks in front of my monitor so that, when my 2900 finally arrives Friday, it will have some proper drivers...

LOL, glad to see that AMD's "Our chips are the best when not doing anything!*" stratagy is now company-wide!

* a joke floating around since AMD touted Athlon X2's idle power consumption VS C2D.

As Komb doesn't come by here all that much, and the comment involved wasn't even made here, I think y'all can discuss this elsewhere.
