So I've installed Ubuntu, and for the first time in about a dozen Linux installs I'm actually really happy with how the whole system runs. It looks great, and updating software with the internal updater + Automatix is great.
The one headache I have, however, is running my HDTV on my second monitor. In Windows, I have it set up as a second monitor, and only use it to drag a media window onto when I want to watch a movie. In Linux, I can't see a way to make it work in the same way. Manually tweaking my xorg.conf, I've managed to extend my desktop to my TV... but the whole menu bar now stretches across both screens. Plus, my monitor runs at 1920x1200, but my Bravia maxes out over VGA at 1388x768 (off the top of my head... some wacky non-native res for the screen Any suggestions? Or am I having to wipe again and come back when things improve? Cheers

There are a number of different options. I presume you are using Xinearama and you want to do Twinview.
