I dont see motorstorm listed on havok's site:
http://www.havok.com/content/blogcategory/29/73/

Might be a proprietary physics engine built by evolution/sony.

If they were using Havok, you would see it. It's part of the licensing agreement to make sure that everyone and their mother can see that you're using Havok. Much like any other licensed technology (think Bluetooth).

The Havok logo is on the back of the box...

[edit]Bad_Boy, it's listed in their 'Upcoming Releases' section:
http://www.havok.com/content/blogcategory/37/78/

Wow, surprised to see an exclusive that relies heavily on physics to use this sort of middleware. This bodes well for the future though--Motorstorm has a ton of cars on screen. If they are all as accurately detailed as your car in regards to physics, then it really seems Havok has their stuff together on the PS3.

Sony Playstation 3 Stating the obvious

July 21, 2005 - In an announcement made at the annual PlayStation Meeting 2005, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan revealed that it has formed a strategic licensing agreement with Havok that's effective starting yesterday. The new collaboration gives SCEI sublicensing rights of physics and animation engines for the PlayStation 3 in addition to all related content and debugging tools developed by Havok itself. This means that optimized libraries of the Havok physics and animation engines, linkers, and debuggers will all be included within the PS3 SDK. Frontline support will be provided by SCEI directly.

Interesting:

http://www.havok.com/content/view/448/53/

San Francisco, Calif., Jan. 23, 2007 – Havok announces today the official release of Havok 4.5, the latest update to its modular suite of artist tools and run-time technology. Fully optimized for Sony PLAYSTATION®3, as well as Microsoft Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii, Havok 4.5 dramatically accelerates the development of cross-platform, cutting edge electronic games, meeting the needs of the world’s top developers and producers. Havok 4.5 allows game developers to scale game content to thousands of dynamically-driven game objects and characters, harnessing the full power and speed of next generation architectures.

Game developers using Havok Physics and Havok Animation products to develop for PS3 will be able to harness the full power of all the SPUs, while maintaining the complete flexibility of the Havok SDK. Havok architecture now scales strongly across all SPUs and runs between 5 and 10 times faster than Havok 4.0 for a typical game scene on the PS3.

I wonder, is that 5-10x performance jump with the same number of SPEs, or was their a limit on former SPE usage (e.g. 3 or 5) and now they can use 7, so the extra SPEs + speedups are included in the 5-10x speedup. Either way impressive, but if they have worked out a 5-10x increase in speed per SPE used, niiiiice.

Saints Row, amongst others, uses Havok.
