Default ViewSonic 191b 19" LCD Display - The Gamer's Choice?

Well I've been using a PC since 1994, with my first monitor being a 14" CRT, then a 15", and finally a 17" Samsung CRT. So, in 12 years I have changed the monitor only twice, price being the main reason (though I can't say that about graphic cards, which are also getting more expensive by the day yet I'm still replacing them like socks ).

However, for about 3 years now I've been thinking about getting myself a 19" LCD, but all this talk about response time and how it's no good for gaming always made me postpone the upgrade to next year.

So, to get to my question, is ViewSonic 191b really acceptable for gaming and watching movies? I haven't had a chance to try it out, so I need your help guys!

Thanks

It might be just what you're looking for. I was using a similarly spec'd Samsung 19" LCD for my gaming purposes, but gave it up due to it's 1280x1024 resolution restrictions. Games simply look a whole lot better in 1600x1200 or beyond.

I sure as hell do miss the desk space though

I went from a Samsung 19" CRT (18" viewable) to my current Dell 2405 24" LCD (1920x1200) as my first LCD. It was the best PC hardware purchase I've ever made. The official 16ms response is good enough that I never noticed any ghosting in anything I've run.

New LCD's have even lower response times. Unless you are overly picky, making the move will be really nice. The picture is so crisp, the deskspace is so nice...

View Sonic LCD Monitor has really fine specs. I use it for almost everything. For me 19 inches and 2 ms of VX922 was a perfect offer, suitable enough to play my favorite games. I enjoy it. Although for working with graphics I prefer to use my old good CRT monitor because of more vivid and live colors… But on my mind it's a good choice for leisure.
...And a price is good for what you get. At least it seems to me so, maybe because I've got my monitor on costupdate site http://www.costupdate.com.
