Default What if graphics in current consoles and PC became photorealistic?

How will photorealist change the way people look at video games?

What if this photorealistic tech was so simple that a PS1 or DreamCast could run it?

How much budget would be saves because of this?

Man yeah,

OH just imagine !!! WOW, you could get a commodore 64 and render Lord of the rings in real time. And then my Gameboy would be as powerful as bluegene super computer. Oh man, that would rock, just imagine !

wtf.........?

Games would suck.

Zelda would be live action and not fantasy.

Cartoonish environments fit some games very well.

A game like GTA3 would go from fun and cartoon violence, to really disturbing and horrific.

if games were to be photorealistic you will see kids who will see little light of day, wear glasses that rival the thickness of the bulletproof teller windows at banks and give a new meaning to obesity...or in a psych ward because of games like silent hill and siren

I could live with Halo 5 looking like the Halo Wars CG trailer.

Ahem, he said, remember the live action FMV craze? Mad Dog McCree, and etc.?

It'd certainly be possible for people to do the old laser disc trick, and just composite interactive materials on top, but you'd have a heck of a time getting the interactive stuff to look just as really real as the background.

Yeah, I've got nothing.
