I wish I wasn't a TV whore. But even more than that I wish I wasn't poor.

The fourth pic down in the 1st post is COD3 I'm guessing. Looks good.

On a side note, why have most of these Sony events been kind of thin on attendance? That's the impression all the pics I've seen give.

I should've gone to the Stuff show in London (although that wasn't a Sony event) but the pics from that looked similarly thin on attendance.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this event specifically was invite only for the first day or so. There have been other invite only GAP events as well.

but yeah, those TV's do look delicious.

Yeah, sparse indeed. Makes me think of an Arthouse gallery. PS3's just too pricy for normal folk so they steer well clear!

The event was invitation-only, probably for the press, seeing the very "lounge-y" setup too. They wouldn't have let all that goodness in there with such low security otherwise. Every of those TVs costs more than a couple of grand (UK pounds, so i'm guessing aroung 4000 US dollars)... And they're just sitting there on pedistals on low tables... Kids running around wouldn't be a good idea.

The visitors (mostly) have a certain look about them. I don't think I can sum it up in one sentence. As hinted at by Shifty "I have disposable income" probably comes closest to it.

Ouch!

Invite only ---> press. Makes sense. A few have a skater-boi look too.

Anyway, I'll leave it there...

They do have that 'grown up hoodie' look about them. Looking at the girl in black on pic 3 from the top, she looks more art-critic to me. Maybe she wandered into the wrong place and thought it was a 'Living Art' gallery where the skater-boi's are part of the exhibit?

Still, absence of females does imply a gaming press event

I think there actually is a female in the first picture. Maybe she just didn't register on your female-detection radar

I like the displays on the ceiling

I can't help thinking that these events are as much for the PS3 as it is for Bravia line of TVs . My family used to only look at Toshiba and now I think I may have to convince my parents that Sony is the way to go.

Good thing is that they not only look very sexy aestetically, but they're also at the top for image quality in the LCD world. Most other manufacturers just can't touch Sony at the price point, so you really can't go wrong...

...Until LED backlight tech starts to come out of course, but as far as CCFL backlighting goes, Sony has it covered, and not even as expensive as they once were too

Model number for those... Mmm us euro/UK have it easy, we have different "series" to differentiate, whereas you guys in the US have model numbers. For us, that's an X-Series. For you it's either an XBR1, XBR2 or XBR3, not too sure to be honest...

Well I've known I want one before PS3 and I was already looking at the Bravia line. These pictures just pushed me over the edge . I got no interest, no payments until 2009. So while I dont have the cash now, I surely will be able to pay it off before 2009 XD. Threw in a wall mount (which is 50% off with the tv) and a 5 year warranty. Got it at Crutchfield.

Edit: Lair looked REALLY nice in that video!

The textures (in the walls, the other textures looked OK anyway) certainly look a hell of a lot better than they did in the recent video they released (a month or so ago)
