It actually runs quite well.

X300, P4 3.8ghz. ~15FPS on average (but spikes and dips a lot depending on what I'm looking at).

The resolution seems a little low for me, but I do have an old system. P4 3GHz and Radeon 9700.

Really low resolution which completely ruined it for me. Why isnt there an option to change this?

Anyway, the lighting is impressive for what the demo is. I wish things like these would be done with the entire visual experience done very well. Its always just one area of the visual experience done really well.

As the readme says (i.e.: RTFM), just use the command line arguments rx and ry, e.g.:
run_NVIDIA rx 1280 ry 960 -ATI.

EDIT: Holy crap! I just noticed I've completely missed Eurographics 2006 (which was held in Vienna this year and where this demo was presented as well), although I frequently was around the TU and even in the ÖAW building once at the time...*bangs head*

7800GTX SLI 256MB/AMDX2 4400/2GB DDR400 here. Three of the four maps ran at a flawless 60FPS @ 1280*1024, however the larger courtyard w/ pillars map dipped to around 30 FPS depending on the light's position...

Nice piece of tech demonstration.

AFAIK, Nvidia showed some realtime illumination in one of their demos, at the G70 launch.

Hi, sorry for the low resolution, 640x480 was requested by EG organizers.

Skrying, it can be easily combined with other effects, it's just matter of time which is hard to find.
I work on parallelization and dynamic objects, nothing fancy but small steps towards final fotorealism
