Just installed a server, but cant create tcp/udp sockets.
Can ping dns and ip addresses fine. But when launching a browser, or utorrent or emule nothing works. Emule says error trying to use a socket that doesnt exist or cannot create a server udp socket. Anyone have an idea? A service or something borked? |

2k3 server is pretty well locked down initially, you probably need to enable the relevant services.

yes. event viewer was the first thing I had checked. No services had problems starting up. It was a fresh install of the virtual server. Couldnt understand why apps wouldnt work, but the internet was accessable via ping, tracert, etc...
as I say, doesnt matter now. Will just have reapply the service packs to the other virtual machines and im golden! |
