Default 3dhq Beta 8 released

I know, it's a little late...

The 3dhq 1.09 beta 8 driver set is out.

Get it here for 2k/XP or here for 9x.

A new Direct3D beta driver is included in the set, for better DX8 compatibility.

In related news: Unreal2 on a Voodoo5 5500! Who says V5 is too old to run today's games?

Says Superbox:

Framerate is acceptable with the above settings (I mean the game is playable... 20-30 fps, I think), and here come two more shots (same settings, except for resolution):
Game crashes with shadows enabled, but other than that...

Added: Well I thought it was appropriate for the front. Oh well.

It doesn't?

I seem to remember that some Voodoo Graphics demos used that. o.O;

In theory it does.

But it has bugs.
Or it had bugs last time I checked with the last official drivers.
(Like incorrect rendering and frequent crashing.)

Btw, are those demos using D3D?

No, GLide. Which D3D uses. Hmm.

I'll talk to Devin about it...
