Default Radeon 9700 Pro, stuttering and Intel systems

Hi,

I am thinking of buying an 9700 Pro, but reading all these problems still make me hesitant. However what I have noticed is that most of the time, people with Athlon and VIA hardware have problems. What about Intel users?
Does the card have the same problems as well? Is the stuttering in Intel platforms too?

Thanks in advance
Yannis

I am running 2 9700PrRO's and 1 9500PRO, all on VIA + Athlon systems, all overclocked to 166FSB..... with no problems whatsoever...... well, the T-Bred gets a little warm......not GFFX warm.......hehe!

My Radeon 9500 Pro gets stutter in OpenGL very frequently (not always though!)...

This is on a P3 800EB on i820/256MB PC800.

Tagrineth, the Cat3.0a's should have fixed OpenGL stutter.

However, I also get D3D stutter unless I turn down HW acceleration one notch under Display Properties->Advanced->Troubleshooting. And I'm running an Intel P4 2.53 - so that rules that idea out :?

I'm USING the Cat3.0a set.

I also have yet to reformat after taking out the Kyro II, so that probably doesn't help...

Kinda awkward, though, cos in Serious Sam I get 40fps in OGL and 1-2FPS in D3D. :?

At the moment I only have 256mb of ram and I havn't seen the stutters except when I overclock to 400mhz and above, then I saw the stuttering. I wonder if this is a heat problem? Still I am glad I don't have this problem.

I bet a rformat would help, I get over 100fps in SS:FE and 60+ with 4xAA/8xAF in SS:SE

I was talking about 6x AA + 16x Quality AF at 1024x768x32... with VSync.

By the way I'm on an 800MHz P3, so :P
