Interesting little application that provides full R/W access to 360 HD and memory units. They mention the first possible use thrown around is sharing savegames over the net (like here: http://www.360gamesaves.com/) but the possibilities are really endless.

Just needs a adapter to plug into USB ports on the PC and it would be ideal.

Funny that in 5 years they couldn't get an app to work half decent with the XBOX hdd in windows (had to take it to DOS) and like 2 months after release, we already have a nearly error free interface for 360. I wonder if that's due to much greater interest, weaker security, or just the fact that the HDD is no longer locked meaning there's no need for hotswapping the drive like there was before which must have turned off alot of people.

Hopefully someone comes out with a divX codec install program we can copy over

Its amazing how many people put a Divx codec at the top of their list for the 360. I dont fully understand why MS wont support it, is it becuase it lacks DRM?

There's no good reason, they say most divX movies are pirated...then at the same time they support mp3's....

It's a dumb move IMO, removing functionality is never a good thing, they should just sell a codec pack on marketplace for a small fee...

Songs are sold in mp3 format, movies arn't sold in DivX format.

In some countries is legal to download music and movies without having the original.

They are typically sold in WMA format due in large part to Janus. However most people download it in AAC (FairPlay'ed) format.

International copyright law means you cannot acquire a work of art without an agreement from the creator, which normally is resolved through payment through a distributor. Acquisition without that is illegal on almost every nation on earth :

Not in Spain. You can have a "private copy" of a movie or music and it's perfectly legal.

A copy of something you own, yes. A copy of something you don't own (or have another agreement with the copyrught holder) no. That is, you can't download a file of a msuic track for your own use from someone else.

I dunno about Spain's internal enforcement, and maybe the national law turns a 'blind eye' to it, but it's still illegal in international law.

No, only movies and music are free (as long as you don't have profit with them -> selling them). Programs (apps, games, ...) are not free.

Here in Sweden, the law forbid anyone to share copyrighted things. But nowhere did it say anything that forbid downloading copyrighted material . Just a while ago we did get the EU laws that forbid obtaining or sharing that sort of things though.
