Default BBC TV programme following XB360

Just perusing the TV listings (for those very programmes I care to watch, often old flicks) and the Beeb have a programme on BBC2 tonight at 7:00 to 7:30 called 'Microsoft's Big Games Gamble'
From RadioTimes online guide...
Quote:
Documentary which follows a team from the world's biggest hi-tech company as they launch a new version of their Xbox games console to take on the Sony Playstation. It is a huge gamble, but the potential rewards are enormous. The new consoles can play music, store photos, and let you contact other people online, so whoever wins the battle could become the gatekeeper to the world of home entertainment. But can Microsoft get their new consoles into the shops in time for Christmas?

It's listed as episode 2 of 10 so I guess I missed the first. I'll definitely be watching this one.

Half an hour advertising a new platform right before launch is quite ingenious if you ask me... And the series is 20 episodes long?! Even bettter. They'll get good coverage with that.

Icon Question

I think the complete series is multiple episodes, but the one about MS is just one...

Oooh I thought the series was called "Microsoft's Big Games Gamble" and was 20 episodes about MS. Which now that i think about it would be a bit much... Makes more sense if it was a show about technology and stuff, and this evening's episode was about MS.

Well I'm just guessing after looking at the site, but maybe you can find some evidence (see link above).

Yes it looks like a Money Programme special. This one episode is about MS wheras the rest cover different industries I expect.

Yup. It's a one off. Last week was about Burberry, and they had a trailer for the Xbox edition this week.

Rather informative piece, I also think it gives us some insight into the "manufactured" shortage. Going by that piece, there is/was nothing manufactured about the shortage at all...

There's the direct link. Just paste it into a new browser window or whatever. If you're using Firefox it should ask you where you want to save it.

I liked the angle. It wasn't a gaming program and dealt with the industry and MS executives from a sort of 'third party' perspective, and refreshingly without any bias at all from the commentary who, presumably, couldn't care less which consoles do and don't sell.

Agreed, cool to see it from someone that doesn't know or care about gamming, a bit refreshing after spending way to much time on the net with fellow cybergeeks and console gamers...
