Default Visual issues, double imaging....

As the name describes I've found that on numerous small games (free 3d, usually less than 200mb, foreign and non alike) I get a weird image doubling issue. 2d works just dandy in them, but when it comes to 3d i get a split view of the same image (Card is a Gf 6800nu, only happens in certain games/apps). It almost looks like it could be stereoscopic. This isn't just confined to games either, I have this issue on the Mad Mod Mike and Luna demo's as well. When it occurs you see two images sort of flickering, both overlapping some 30 percent in the middle of the screen. Taking a screenshot just shows a single image. I've tried multiple refresh rate settings, thinking this could be it, but 60hz@640 and 75@1600 as well as everything inbetween hasn't fixed it. I've tried reducing settings, shaders, driver quality, increased it, nothing seems to fix it. So here's my question. Any idea on what could cause it, and any possible fixes for it? Since getting a screenshot gives me what looks to be normal, I did a little ps work to illustrate the problem.

This is what a shot from the Luna demo looks like. It looks almost exactly the same in all other applications I have this issue in. In action it sort of looks like it's alternating sides at half refresh (left, right, left,right...etc).

Me and a friend have both experienced this problem, although would only occur in windows when a new window/program is opened, the only way I found to get it back was by pressing the windows key + L, no idea what the cause is but we both changed to 77.77 (from 77.76) drivers and this seems to have sorted it. I have a 6800U and my friend a 6800GT. Hope this helps......
