I think this game looks ok. I couldn't get any sound though.

Honestly, it looks like a Xbox game in 720p.

Agreed, could be much better.
Out of curiosity, does anyone remember the Amped shots pre-Xbox release which were touched up with generic Photoshop effects (eg, lens flare)? |

examples?
I have no imagination for a game that is focused on one player going down some black diamond. I suppose you could add a ton of people in the area, but that's not a focus. Spectators are at the bottom of the mountain... and so are animals and most trees. |

this game isn't about graphics (what's there is nice looking) but it's about CONTROL and style and on line LIVE play and net code (spectator mode maybe?) and sound and feel and maybe even a good physics model.
None of which are measured in screen shots. |

Meh.
Needs more particles. Also, the pic Tap In posted: The Rock/Snow transitions are really poor IMO for next gen. Smeared pixilation... ewww! The background mountains look flat and undetailed as well. This looks like a hi res Xbox port as JVD noted. If it plays well and has great features the graphics suffice... but judging only the graphics I would have to say I am not impressed. Also: Where are the trees?

So gamers can expect most first wave Xbox360 games to be high res xbox games. I think I'll hold off for more impressive games to show up, before dropping some cash on a Xbox360.

Good god, what u mean you can't get any better? Yes it's snow, but does that snow look like real snow? No. Even the rock bits look flat. Next gen consoles will be able to do much better than that. I can even see flat polygon edges on the terrain! On machines that can push more polygons than pixels in a frame!
Really, it can only get better until we get this in realtime: ![]() ![]() So let's stop with this "what more can you do with a game set in snow environments" nonsense. You can always improve on everything in life. |

the particales in the first shot would kill either next gen system ... just those particals alone not taking into account anything else in the scene

Yeah... manners would be one thing. Or how about not jumping on people for asking questions. If arrogance is an improvement to life, I'll stay right where I am now then. Last edited by AlStrong; 16-Aug-2005 at 16:14. |

at first glance it looks pretty damn sweet, on close up the rocks are pretty ugly.

Anyway I don't think next gen consoles will have any problems with snow particles that look like smoke since we already have that kind of stuff this generation. A snowboarding game isn't going to tax a console anyway so you can dedicate a bunch of resources to snow particles. Think about it snow particles are exactly the same as dirt particles in rally racing games except it's white.
