ATI's RADEON IGP(tm) 340M integrated graphics processor to power the NEC Versa M300 notebook

NEC notebook among the first to include the world's fastest, most feature-rich mobile integrated graphics processor for Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M platform

MUNICH, GERMANY - November 5, 2002 - The world's most powerful, feature-rich integrated graphics processor for the mobile PC market, ATI's (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) RADEON IGP(tm) 340M, has been chosen by NEC Computers International to power the new NEC Versa M300.

"ATI's RADEON IGP 340M integrated graphics processor is the most advanced Intel Pentium* 4 Processor-M-based chipset to hit the market," said Peter Edinger, Vice President and Managing Director, ATI Technologies (Europe) GmbH. "With the impressive graphics features, unmatched performance and power-efficient design of the RADEON IGP 340M on board, the NEC Versa M300 offers notebook users an ideal solution for business computing."

The RADEON IGP 340M delivers industry-leading mobile integrated graphics performance with 64-bit system memory interface, fixed to 32 MB of shared memory and a variety of award-winning RADEON(tm) features such as HYPER ZTM and ATI's dynamic PIXEL TAPESTRYTM architecture. The RADEON IGP 340M's highly integrated design, including LVDS and integrated master clock, also includes ATI's VIDEO IMMERSION(tm) adaptive de-interlacing engine for hardware motion compensation and iDCT (inverse discrete cosine transform), and ATI's industry leading power management technology. The NEC Versa M300 offers an ideal combination of form, function and value for business users who demand the convenience of an all-in-one product to suit their computing needs.

Featuring the latest Intel Celeron* processor or Intel* Pentium* 4 Processor-M, up to a 15"TFT display, up to a 40GB hard disk drive, and configurable optical drives including combo DVD/CD-RW drive, the NEC Versa M300 delivers outstanding functionality for a wide range of computing demands.

A natural-born communicator, the NEC Versa M300 is available with integrated 10/100 LAN, an integrated 56K V92 modem, and optional 802.11b wireless LAN card. Highly expandable, it comes with two PC card slots, three USB ports and an IEEE-1394 port.

Thanks to the NEC Configure To Order programme, customers benefit from virtually unlimited configurability.

The NEC Versa M300 will be available to customers beginning in November, 2002.
