Today, I will go to the shops and try and get me a KT266A motherboard (looks like it will be MSI's... sadly Derek Perez and Brian Burke of NVIDIA do not appear to think highly enough of either me or this site - never got a reply from either of them - to send me a reference nForce motherboard I asked for... oh well, it's always been the case with NVIDIA and this site , 256MB of DDR RAM and Windows XP Pro. I will then install the OS and this setup will be my primary testbed from now on. This will, of course, be the base system for my VisionTek XTASY GeForce4 Ti 4600 review, the latter of which I should've received on Feb 27th but due to VisionTek completely messing up my address, it was stuck at the local UPS warehouse until I managed to sort it out yesterday with both VisionTek and UPS. So, the next thing from me will be a review of this VisionTek card, which I hope will go live not later than March 14th. I've actually started testing the VisionTek GeForce4 Ti4600 and have completed benchmarks of Serious Sam SE, Max Payne and F1 2001 but this is on my old-and-slowish rig (TBird 1100MHz, 256MB PC133 and Win98SE) for what I'm hoping to turn out to be a "shootout" article (involving a GF3 Ti200, GF3 Ti500 and GF4 MX440) entitled "GeForce3 and GeForce4 shootout on a 1GHz CPU" or something like that. Not an actual review but one more about taking into consideration of the fact that there are tons of folks with 1GHz CPUs + Win98 instead of the latest-and-fastest CPU with WinXP.

Geez Rev, an "oldish" chipset like that is obviously no good at all. Please send me your old chipset so I can dispose of it properly for you.

Diane V. usually provides feedback to all serious inquiries, positive or negative. Not sure about the other two, never had a need to deal with them.
