Default Medal of Honor Airborne for PS3 launch

Quote:
EA already working on next-gen sequel sources claim

The next instalment in EA's long-serving World War II series Medal of Honor is apparently in development for Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 console.

The game - currently referred to as Medal of Honor Airborne - has been in development for six months and is intended to be a PS3 launch title, according to sources close to EA.

There is no mention of an Xbox 360 version, however its unlikely the title will be exclusive to PS3 - previous Medal of Honor games have appeared across many formats.

The question is, will a cut-down version appear on current-gen machines as well? With Nintendo's Revolution not due out until after PS3, EA may not want to wait for all of the next-gen machines to launch before releasing its new Medal of Honor title.

"We aren't ready to comment on anything just yet," a senior EA spokesperson told a US website. Going on to say that, "Gamers can assume that EA is excited to bring the coolest content to the latest platforms."

I know some people are going to think posting this is stupid, but the reason I did it is because they state that EA has been developing the game for 6 months. I shocked because I didn't think EA received dev-kits that long ago. Well anyway put it on the launch list.

There's a measurable target

Well, there is more work to creating a game than just coding it. It's quite possible that they haven't had the kits as long as they've been 'working' on the game.

It's also possible that EA has had kits for that long (considering their size, they might as well be de facto first party for all consoles). At E3 they said first parties have had kits in some cases for up to 5 months.

As Fight Night next-gen render test pics that later turned out to be for PS3 appeared in Jan. 2005, it's likely that EA had dev kits around that time.

Agreed, Rising Sun was pretty poor in my opinion.

The first one was a good game. Not "cool", but a good game nonetheless.
All the sequels, especially the ones on PS2/Xbox, were pure turdistic creations.

MOH Resistance, on PSone, deserve some props for being one of the rare, if not the only one, game I know that features dancing german shepherd dogs that drive tanks!

You know this reminded me of the time a friend and I were eating at a local cafe in CA a few years ago and we by chance met a real life WW2 veteran at that same place. He told us that he was one of the American soldiers that landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and went on to describe how a lot of them were vomiting from sea sickness etc. It really made me feel proud and thankful to have heros like him fight for the Allied forces.

EA started working on nexgen games before they had devkits. it's not that much to assume the graphics hardware shares a feature set already found on PC graphics hardware. So at the veyr least all console developers could get started on the PC.

Wouldn't start reading too much into when they had devkits from when they showed test renders.

EA does generally see them early but no earlier than the other major players.

You would be surprised how little time there is between Devkits being around and there being leaks on the web. If you don't here anything credible about something then it's likely the devkits aren't around.
