Default Curious about Japanese reaction

I'm curious to know what the 'buzz' is in the Japanese gaming press with regard to the 360 at the moment, especially after those Mistwalker demos. Are they being given decent odds? I know one or two people here in console land speak Japanese, so I'm forced to kind of petition for 'the scoop.' I think it could be a good indicator, well, at least an early indicator, of how XBox might do this time around.

The Japanese gaming press (I mean Famitsu and so on) are usually very polite and hardly criticize anything, and yes they are enthusiastic about Xbox 260 and new Japanese developed titles for Xbox 360 for now.

But you know, in Japanese internet forums, it's almost agreed that the MTV program was a low framerate crap. At least exclusives from Sakaguchi and Mizuguchi, and footages listed in the MTV site such as PGR and NBA2K6 seem to retain the steam, but all other things are letdown.

Thanks for the analysis one!

I know that Japanese press wouldn't do anything impolite, but I was just wondering if anyone would be able to provide a look into the undertones of the gamer sentiment over there after the special.

And you have done so! Don't hesitate to update us should other signs of sentiment begin to become more clear.

I'm curious as well. Care to point me to a decent and/or well known/respected Japanese gaming forum(s)?

That Gears of Wars footage really got me laughing out loud non stop.
First there was that uh...uh sound out of nowhere followed by some ape chasing after that soldier. If you looked carefully at that ape or whatever it was jumping as it chased the poor guy.Its movements were somewhat so unrealistic.

The other games like Saints Row,Tiger Woods PGA and Kameo just wasn't up to expectation. They too can be done in the current gen of consoles/PC with good art directions.

Hugo are you Japanese? Because if not this isn't what I'm asking here. 8)
