Default Major OpenGL Improvements in Catalyst drivers

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...il05/page4.asp

FiringSquad has this to say....

In addition, we’ve also heard that ATI’s CATALYST driver team has incorporated some major improvements into their OpenGL architecture and we should hear more on this soon.
Anyone know anything about this?

Based solely on what you quoted from the article, it's hard to say what has been improved specifically (i.e. what was inferred to FS by ATI) -- whether what ATI has done internally is for the current crop of available OpenGL games/apps or for OpenGL2.0

From what I've been told, however, there's been some "decent" (as quoted, by me, by two individuals) improvements. For which one (like I mentioned above), I really shouldn't say. It's all good anyway generally-speaking as far as ATI is concerned.
