Well it looks like for whatever reason I will never get SSAA on my radeon. This was a year ago, and CM promised big things that would make us forget about SSAA well I don't know what those were... but I guess someone was excited by it maybe. I think next time I will have to go back to Nvidia, I have been pining for SSAA for years now it is kinda frustrating, I thought ATI would enable it. http://www.nonatainment.de/portal/De...7&tabid=19 This directx tweaker says I can get SSAA at least, but it is kind of a pain. Do the omega drivers or any others like that allow it?

Big where? There were a couple very long threads here about it. None of the reviewers including B3D seemed to give it any attention. Was it ever officially marketed by ATI or just something people found in the drivers?

The reason why reviewers don't go over it is because you can't see its effect in screen grabs . You have to see it in motion as it alternates the sample pattern every other frame and gives the effect of a higher sample rate than you would see if it was the same sample pattern each frame . It looks really really good if your rig can handle it . On my 9700pro i used to use 2x temporal instead of 4x regular as i would get about 15-20fps more that way and i couldn't tell a diffrence between the two modes . With my x800xt pe some of my games will run 6x fsaa temporal , a good portion more will run 6x fsaa regular and the rest at 4 The only real problem about temporal is you need vsync on , you need to have framerates above the vysnc . So you would need 75fps if you have a 75hz refresh rate. When you go below this you get a slight shimmer and then another when you go back above the refreshrate . I started to just leave it on as when its on it looks nicer and it shuts off when you go under the refresh rate |

This is the mod . It looks very nice , it applys the effects on everything so you don't have to be looking at the light fixture to see the hdr affect . Only problem is you have to replay the game as its installed as a mod and you can't use standard saves on it . It looks really really nice and if its true that the valve hdr looks even beter then we are in for a real treat. This hdr looks as good as farcrys geforce 6 bloom |

XL, particularly if you use 4xAA/8xAF and up at 1280x or greater. Many XLs are showing 440-480 on the core. Mine does 461/1.10 and is a great card.

So I suppose temporal AA would apply to the whole screen as well right? Maybe I will have to try it. I will use it for a bit and mayhaps I will love it :P
