Sounds interesting, never heard of this before. If i'm reading it right, the goals to make everything in a room interactive.

It's extremely lame it's even at all possible to patent things like this. Like patenting a toothbrush with a built-in gum massage thingy - OOOH SI TEH NEW INVENTION!!!11!1
Bet these guys didn't even come up with the technique themselves, but just want to patent it for use in GAMES... What's even more ironic is the gamecube can't even do cubemapping.

BTW, isn't this kind of tech really heavy from a RAM point of view?
Would it be really useful on a RAM constrained device like a console? We don't know what amount of RAM Nintendo will integrate in the system, though. So, why not.
