Default Intel Heat Problems

It may be hard to believe, but yes, Intel's high-end Pentium 4 processor, the 3.6 GHz 560, runs extremely close to its thermal limits, possibly causing the processor to throttle under a high load.
Intel has done bad this time, VEEERY bad.

What is your opinion?

Intel is not for any sort of enthusiast now. It is very clear that AMD has the lead currently not that it matters since AMD doesn't have the necessary capacity. I hope that AMD gets around 35% market share within two years though then both companies will be competing and prices and speed will both go in the correct directions.

Anyway Intel will get their act together soon, like 10m months.

I think it's quite telling that though I've used Intel systems in my main computer for many years, I now have a 3800+, a RADEON Xpress 200 in my main home computer. I too, was bit by the heat bug on the 3.6 P4E. I'm glad Tom's investigated. Normal thermal cooling won't cut it on the P4E 3.6s

Are they? Well maybe they are, but the power consumption would scare me away anyways.
