Default Everquest 2 beta update

Quote:
EverQuest II Update - 9/06/2004

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to give you all an update on the progress we’re making in EverQuest II. We’ve been in a closed beta since July, and things have been progressing nicely. We’ve got almost 5,000 in this portion of the Beta and if things progress as they have been, that number will be increasing rapidly over the next couple of weeks.

Our goals during this phase are:

1. Make sure everyone’s having fun.

2. Make sure all of the content is balanced and tuned with the help of our 3. Beta Testers. They’re giving us great feedback and we’re making sure that feedback is incorporated into every patch we do.

3. Bring the server population to the levels we expect to see when we launch, and then go over those numbers to make sure we can handle the load we’re expecting.

In addition to our US servers, we recently opened up Closed Beta for our French and German localized servers in Europe, and we expect to be opening them up to a wider audience in the upcoming weeks. Our goal is to do a simultaneous release in North America and Europe a little later in the year. In the short term, you can expect to see us inviting a lot of the people that signed up for the European Beta. Our plan is to have anyone in North America or Europe being able to log into any server that they want to, but we will have specialized French and German servers for players that prefer to play in those languages.

Our goal is nothing short of one worldwide EverQuest II community, and it’s a goal we’re meeting.

The EverQuest II team is doing a terrific job keeping up with the insane pace of running a Beta, tuning content and polishing the game all the while still adding new and exciting features. In the upcoming weeks we’ll be widening the Betas in North America and Europe to include a whole lot more people as we move forward. As we open the next phase of Beta, you’ll also get your first look at some very exciting community features we’re working on. We’ll put out more information on these features soon.

Thanks for your support for the EverQuest II community!

Quote:
Urduuk turned and gasped, as did the crowd. Out of nowhere a massive figure stood, twice as tall as any ogre, with a thick, imposing frame. It wore dark metallic armor that seemed to faintly glow with power, and a horned helm that hung just above its burning eyes. It was like an ogre but more than an ogre, a creature of power and terror and death.

Lookin good. I hope they can still make the end of the year release date they shore up and down would be made at the beginning of this year. Only being 2 months into beta isn't filling me full of confidence.

from what i understand all systems except crafting and large scale raids is done and working 100% with a few bugs in crafting and the need for content for raids. Supposedly they will start stress testing the first week of october letting in through the cource of october 100k users into beta and a launch the second week of nov

They will meet the release date. Sony does not care if the game is done or not. If you played SWG or any of the eq expansions you should know first hand

Heh then you don't know eq2's history. It was delayed a year already. They said summer of 2003 then summer of 2003 they pushed it back.

Even the new eq1 expansion was delayed and they are talking about pushing back jump to light speed due to bugs.

Sony is slowly learning from its mistakes online .

Hum JVD

As i told you i actually play theses games. The new expansion was delayed because players went on strike and refused to preorder Omens of War. And it was delayed one months only. We are so unhappy with it that my whole guild decided last week that we will leave EQ 1 and move mostly on WoW.

If you want to know what happened for the delay, google "guild summit" you should find.

Just a detail. It is advertising thru "approved" beta journals. All others are under nda and can't talk.

Well i live in a free country so thankfully all are allowed to talk .

There are users that are interested in eq2 (you can tell from past threads on it). Not all of them browse gaming sites and i try to bring them the news.

You may not like it and you can say whatever you want but don't ever tell me i'm not allowed to talk about something .

One thing:

EQ2 looks gorgeous.

That's probably the only reason I may try the game...it's too good looking to pass up.

Though if I get in beta and it's not fun, then I will not buy it b/c I've already got my dose of nice graphics by then.

Speng.
