Default PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

i just got doom 3 yesterday and i want to run it as well as i can i am using:
i am currently running it at 640x800 on medium, i know my cpu is more powerful than that i havent had it a year yet, could someone help me so i can get the full effect of the graphics on this game

p4 2.8 ghz
windows xp
512 mb
160 gb
nVidia GeForce fx 5200
- AGP 8x Graphics card w/128 mb of ddr memory

Your CPU should run it fine, but a 5200 is gonna be really holding you back. :?

its runs ok at medium but i have a flat screen 17-inch thats is on 1280*1024 and i want the pixels on that but when i do that, it slows down horribly but the graphics are awsome

it's a 5200. no amount of tweaking will get that to run at 1280x1024.

bets on whether it's a 64-bit 5200?

I figured the poor guy had enough problems without bringing him down any further.

The 5200 has been a bit of an issue on the boards since they were announced, we really don't mean any offense towards you with our comments...we just sort have been waiting for this to happen.

If you want to play the game at 12x10, you definitely need a new gfx card, and you need one from this gen. Check out [H]'s hardware guide.
