Default Help needed. Flickering graphics driving me nuts.

Ok heres the deal.

One week ago i made a new clean install of WIN XP. Installed the new Catalyst 4.7 driver (My gfx card is a Hercules 9800 Pro). If you look at pictures (link below) you will see the flickering textures that drives me nuts. The screenshots are from Farcry but this also affects other games
like Knights of the old republic for instance.

I have tried installing different Catalyst drivers but nothing helps. Does anyone have any idea what i should try next to get rid of this crap? Before my new XP install everything worked perfect no new hardware added. Plz help me or this will be the death of me.

hmm..You may be on to something there. After i made my new install of WIN XP i only installed DX9 and Catalyst 4.7. I have a Asus p4c800 Deluxe and i have updated the BIOS but that did not solve my problem.
Im kind of a rookie at this so what should i look for at the asus download page?

you have the Intel i875P chipset, so you'll need the intel drivers. try http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...ProductID=1043

Its not overclocked i installed it default right away.

One other thing i noticed is that it dosent affect all textures. In games like Farcry ,KOTOR and BF1942 only specific texture is affected like water and moutains/hills and a few others. The larger part of the textures looks fine but then suddenly the flickering is there when i look at specific places. Think im losing my mind =((

perhaps try uninstalling the cats, using a catalyst remover to clean up any left-behind files, and then reinstalling them?

Have now installed everytinh from scratch...again. But the problem remains. Im thinking of using the warranty to get a replacement card.
Can anyone else think of a better idea than returning the card and try to get a new one?

Ursin,

just a shot in the dark here but;

have you tried re-seating the card in the agp slot? Are you sure you vga conector from your cable monitor is firmly connected (screwed) to the connector on your videocard? I experienced a similar problem last week and I think it was due to these factors.

Aren't those just sparklies you get when overclocking the memory too far?

If you get them at stock it maybe the memorychips on the card that are broken, have you tried underclocking the memory?
