I'm not arguing whether prior art exists or not, but you have to go back much further than a year. The patent was filed in January 2008

Well, Braun has used various induction based chargers since early 1990's, and I'm quite sure they haven't been the only ones

Hard to argue they didn't, when they obviously did (just look at the fucking thing and it's blindingly obvious), that however doesn't mean Apple should have exclusive rights to all metal-backed devices with a black bezel around the screen.

Well, you can look at ton of tablet pre-iPad and say iPad copied them just as much
The fact that iPad was the "first really popular one" changes nothing
