Default ATi Hardware Applying AA in EQ II

I thought I would demonstrate ATi hardware applying AA in EQ 2. Some say it can't be done.

Since the Cat 6.3s Cat AI breaks the AA work around in EQ 2. You may apply AA in EQ 2 by first disabling Cat AI and setting the level you desire in the CCC. In the EQ 2 folder edit the two "configuration files" called recent and default with notepad. Add the line r_aa_blit 1 to each and save. Another way to do it is to create a file with notepad called eq2 and save it as a .ini with r_aa_blit 1 inside. It would then be placed in the EQ 2 folder. For single cards it works fine without the CCC using ATi Tray Tools + the driver instead. Just remember to kill Cat AI.

I have used feedback to ATi about this issue. Also when disabling Cat AI Crossfire will apply what looks like a clear plastic checkerboard layover on your screen. You fix that by by simply moving the gamma slider around in the game CP. That will also address any flickering you may get that is gamma related.

Note: If you don't view the screens at full resolution they will look aliased. So when they first load click them again and they should go full size. The were reduced in quality and compressed so as to not exceed imageshack's file size limit.

System configuration:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+(2.84)|G.Skill 2GB PC-4000 HZ (3-4-4-8 1T)
DFI LanParty UT CFX 3200-DR (Xpress 3200)|ATi Radeon X1900 XTX (X2)|Samsung
SyncMaster 214T|WD Raptor 74GB HD(x2)|NEC ND-3550A DVD|PowerColor Theater 550 Pro
Auzentech HDA X-Plosion|Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0|PC P&C 510 SLi|Windows XP MCE 2005

Settings used were Crossfire enabled 4xAA + HQ 16xAF Mips High Quality.

At this time I can not get Crossfire Super AA to function in the game. Attempting to use it results in a blackscreen load and system lock when starting the game. Crossfire Super AA will work in Lineage II and SWG.
