Default A beautiful error I've been receiving lately

After installing my 256 mb Radeon X800 XT PE in another computer, I've been receiving the following error ever since I installed the latest drivers, upon startup and whenever I attempt to open the Catalyst control center.

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/5168/error5bk.jpg

I can't even open the catalyst control center, nor does it appear to be recognized in my display menu, which was generally given away by an array of ATI tabs, which are no longer present. Has anyone encountered this error? If so how do i fix it?

Thank you-

Norton

You need to install .NET framework or ensure that your firewall is not blocking CLI.EXE from accessing your local machine/zone.

I think...

It is probably .NET Framework 1.1 (must be installed and functioning to use Catalyst Control Center) being spooky. It may also be related to how .NET interacts with the network and therefore a firewall issue.

Make sure you have .NET Framework 1.1 installed properly. Reinstall/repair if necessary

Try temporarily disabling any firewall you may have, like ZoneAlarm or Windows XP SP2 firewall.

EDIT: yeah, what he said...

Hmm. Where would a layman such as myself find such a program?

Is your other computer attached to the internet? I'm not sure, now, if .NET can be installed by doing a Windows Update, or whether you have to install it deliberately:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

This page:

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27

is where ATI describes the prerequisites.
