NVIDIA Extends System and Graphics Performance With New nForce 620-D And nForce 615-D Platform Processors

CEBIT, HANNOVER MESSE, Germany, Mar 14, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- NVIDIA(R) Corporation (NVDA) today announced that it has brought the power and performance of DDR333 memory to its award-winning NVIDIA nForce(TM) Platform Architecture. The new NVIDIA nForce 620-D and nForce 615-D platform processors, which combine revolutionary PC platform technologies with the stunning speed of DDR333 memory, are on display in the NVIDIA booth (C13, Hall 19) and other partner pavilions at the CeBIT tradeshow in Hannover, Germany. In addition, NVIDIA, along with memory partner Samsung, is showcasing the future of platform performance with a real-time demonstration of DDR400 memory running on the nForce architecture as well.

NVIDIA's partner and technology demonstrations are further testament to the broad market adoption of NVIDIA's top-to-bottom nForce product family, which is now used by more than 100 PC OEMs and System Builders worldwide, including Compaq, Fujitsu-Siemens, MicronPC and more.

NVIDIA's nForce product family, which now consists of 620-D, 615-D, 420-D, 415-D, 220-D and 220 platform processors, is positioned to continue its rapid acceptance in various markets due to its tight integration of core components and innovative technologies. With its integrated platform processors and innovative system, memory, networking and audio technologies, the nForce architecture delivers the ultimate in performance and functionality for a variety of different markets including desktop PCs, home entertainment hubs, and digital living rooms. NVIDIA's nForce processor set is comprised of two platform processors: the nForce Integrated Graphics Processor (IGP) or System Platform Processor (SPP), each paired with the nForce Media and Communications Processor (MCP). The IGP, SPP and MCP all feature HyperTransport interconnect technology, delivering the highest continuous throughput between the two platform processors, helping to substantially increase overall system performance and memory efficiency.

Compared to previous generation memory dual channel configurations, DDR333 provides more than 20-percent increase in available system bandwidth -- a total of 5.4GB/sec.-enough to satisfy the requirements of the most demanding digital applications, for today and the future. In addition to core system performance improvements, the added support for DDR333 memory provides a major performance boost to the integrated GeForce2(TM) graphics core on the nForce IGP processor, further outpacing all other current and upcoming integrated graphics solutions. Based on preliminary internal benchmarks, the combination of DDR333 and the nForce IGP results in graphics performance that is up to 15 times faster than that of the closest competitive integrated graphics solution.

The nForce 620-D and nForce 615-D platform processors are currently sampling. Motherboards based on the nForce 620-D and 615-D platform processors will be available in late Q2 2002 from a variety of companies including ASUSTeK, Leadtek and MSI.

Motherboards using the nForce platform processors are on display at CeBIT from a number of motherboard manufacturers including: Abit, ASUSTeK, Chaintech, Leadtek, Mitac, MSI, and Tatung.
