from what i understand, they plan to have things set up where you can start downloading and be able to play after the engine and a small portion of the content is received, then you can play while the rest of the game is being downloaded.

THis whole survey is a piace of crap. Detects false things, card listings makes no sense (50% other than NV or ATI????), everything is crappy.

Dunno who's in charge at Valve but it's definitely a crap - shows everything very far from reality.

EDIT: typos

Yeah, that bugs me too... 1.5Mbit DSL is now under $50, 3Mbit DSL under $100 per month almost everywhere in Continental US and all the cable companies give you 2-3Mbit downlink at least (not to mention Cablevision's 10Mbit) for the same price, between $40-$60 monthly.

lol, it seems you are just having trouble reading the results; the server doesn't show anything close to 50% other on the card listings.

Sweden is pretty sweet, especially my home town:
100/100 mbit, unlimited traffic: 39 USD/month

Pifft no it is not! maybe in NYC but not LA or SF or Seatle or Denver or anywhere more than X Feet from the hardware like me and about 200mil other telephone line users. Not even in your wildist dreams is 1.5 dsl everywhere in the USA. as for the cable download BS. maybe in NYC but most everywhere else you are capped well before that, 1mb is the norm if your lucky. and that 10mb is very very select not even worth talking about at this moment.125kb is the norm for DSL with 350kb the next.
