I started playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, which I bought during the Steam sales. I installed the latest patch and I've put 10 hours in to it so far. It was a bit rough for the eyes in the beginning, especially the character models, but certainly tolerable. I wonder why this game has so few graphical settings in the game menu? Turning up high AA and AF from the control panel helped a lot for the overall look of the game.

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit so far. The game has Interesting characters and game world. I like the fact that there isn't an arrow pointing to the right direction all the time and figuring out things has been fun so far, not that there has been anything really challenging, but fun anyway. Character development system and player powers seems to work well.

Overall gameplay: moving around and combat feels quite imprecise and sloppy, luckily those aren't needed too often.

If you could combine DoMM's FP combat mechanics with Bloodlines' roleplaying systems, you'd have got one hell of a game.

Been on a roll finishing games lately. Finally finished the new Deus Ex, totally awesome game! Also finished both Alan Wake games, the regular one and American Nightmare, love that series and hope they make more, great games especially whan played with the hud off in a dark room. Also finished Velvet Assasin, definitely an underrated game to me and so worth the $5 I paid for it. Played some Cave Story which was entertaining for a bit but got bored and moved on. Same with Vessel, it's a clever game but just didn't grab me. Now I'm bouncing between Dead Rising 2 and Max Payne. May Payne so far is cool, looks nice and plays well. Dead Rising is fun but I don't think I'll be finishing that one.

Just starting Borderlands GOTY. I know there's a lot of interest in co-op but I hope the SP is decent.

SP's very good if you like the sort of looting type of game it is, co-op just makes it better due to extra madness.

I loved the game!! The whole setting and subtle humor (especially the Dr Zed DLC) reminded me of Serenity. I cannot understand, why this game concept is nit copied more...waiting for Borderland 2...

Thanks guys that makes me feel much better about diving in! The FOV and control tweaks make a huge difference - what were they thinking shipping the PC version in its default state!?

Co-op is spectacularly fun.
SP is horribly boring.

Do yourself a favor and don't play the game if you're not in a coop session.

Can't say I agree there, I enjoyed Borderlands sp very much, more than I enjoyed Rage for example.

I bought all of the Fallout3:NV DLC during the Steam summer sale, so I've been working my way through the Courier 6 (whatever that one is called) piece. Fun

Playing Orcs Must Die 2.

Never played the first one, this one is pretty fun. It's an interesting twist in the Action/Tower defense style of games. Sorta like Dungeon Defenders but different.

Instead of towers you have traps. Some traps go on floors, some on walls, and some on ceilings. At the start of each level you can choose your loadout. Combat oriented people can go with multiple weapons and trinkets with very few traps while trap oriented people could go full traps (not recommended ) if they wished. You can level up your weapons, traps, trinkets, etc. for a cost. Pretty fun. If anyone wants to do some coop they can hit me up.

I still like Dungeon Defenders more though. The loot drop hunt is a bit addictive. But Orcs Must Die 2 has enough differences that it's a refreshing take on the whole action tower defense genre.

Regards,
SB

Replaying Darksiders in preparation for the epic sequel. They have really improved every aspect of the game.

I'll chime in with support for Borderlands SP. I got the game long after my friends had finished it so I played the whole thing alone. It's a little dead and empty at times but it was one of my favorite gaming experiences last year, for sure. I can see how it would be way better MP tho. Looking forward to playing the sequel from week one!

Realized just how many games I've bought on Steam in anticipation of one day getting a new PC. Now that I have a system capable of playing everything on max, I find I have little time to play them. Oh if only I was single again.... nah.

Finished Serious Sam 3, was some good old school fps fun. Trying to figure out what to play next, thinking either Batman AA and AC, or Crysis 2. All the while been playing The Secret World with the wife when possible.

Died like half a dozen times in Fallout3:NV last night, got a small bit annoyed because I hadn't saved (like a moron) and so I decided to try something else for a while.

Fired up Crysis 2, it auto-detected Ultra settings and plays like a friggin' champ on my rig -- even at 2560x1440. The framerate is a tad bit hitchy in one or two places, but so far it's pretty enjoyable. I'll probably go back to Fallout:NV tonight.

Finally got around to giving Shogun 2 a full whirl. The way the game snowballs is a real treat and joy which makes it totally worth rreplaying, even at over 80 hours per game. I just spent no less than four hours playing cat and mouse with the AI - and so I can say that although it is not entirly unflawed, it is full of fascinating interactions. In the end, my massively outnumbered wing of cavalry proved too much for the computer's peasants to manage, but it was actually surprisingly fun to kite and lure archers and spearmen for so long. Almost every aspect is worth savoring and messing with. My only wish is that naval battles were as fun as Ancient Art of War At Sea's. Theyre still pretty interesting for awhile, but the lack of feedback, a few minor bugs, and the emphasis on rowboats are stifling. Anyway... the AI still aint perfect but it's a joy for a good while. And the polish and care... :F
