Animations are far better than they were in the old 360 demo. When people run around corners they kinda lean to the side a bit, looked really cool.

Yeah servers for account creation is down. Only way for me to login was to use my Crysis Wars login account.

A bit disapointing after all this time and still unable to test the demo thanks to a pointless logging system.

Moreover for those who(like me) were anxious waiting to test the demo today with hopes of a DX11/10.X showoff, instead get presented with a demo limited to the same(or close to) leaked version with DX9@medium settings.

I was never that excited with the MP gameplay either, but with hopes that the mod comunity brings out some interesting things at least.

Game looks good even at low setting. Get avg 60fps low, 50fps med and 35fps high (4890) at 1680x1050 15xAF, vsync on. Edge AA is though a bit worse at low with more shimmering but way better than for example edge AA in DF 360 MP beta demo.

Its amazing what higher AF settings do to the overall image quality of a game.

This comparison was posted on Gaf. Crysis 2 looks quite soft/blurry.

Also, has anybody done comparisons between the graphics settings? It is rumored that they're all (nearly) identical.

It's a step back from Crysis I still have some hope the final with dx 11 will show something. Consolitis is the plaque of the new millennium.

Looks like overly compressed JPEG aswell as dont confuse distant scenery DOF for edge AA bluriness. I suggest avoiding GAF material, reading some pages shows to much nonsense and armchair "experts" at work. You want proper captures check screenshot thread or the above LOW setting captures.

Heavily biased unfair comparision in a tiny pic. Is it from GAF? Wouldn't surprise me.

Most textures are actually good with good mapping. Some outstanding some worse.

EDIT: Texture compilation.

Check textures and avg texture quality (from screenshot thread).

What's the FOV like? That to me is the biggest curse of console games on the PC. Who wants to be looking through a keyhole on their widescreen HD monitor?

Looks like 60 degree to me and way better than BFBC2s horrible default 50-55 degree FOV. I find it acceptable for 16:9. Vanilla Crysis was 60 degree but 65 was the sweet spot for me. 75-90 just creates fisheye effect at 16:9 in Crysis/CW.

Which is stupid because whoever plays the campaign will feel the MP is a gimped mess. Which it is. It has nothing to do with the story, but gameplay mechanics progression. In this case it's not an advancement but a regression

Crysis Wars was fun, but it was kind of niche. That won't fly for this flagship title.
That is an awful oversimplification. Even if this game had huge maps and 32/64 players, it's the gameplay mechanics is what's wrong with it so it would still suck.

The softer look probably has a lot more to do with the atmospheric fog. Do they have their new edge-AA in the demo?

Spot on! Would be interesting to show my non gaming friend this demo, and then Crysis Wars on Tarmac with ToD transition enabled. See which one he thinks is Crysis 2.

Still will be worth the purchase for single player and giving myself a graphics boner, but coming off of Bad Company 2 and Crysis Wars I can't help but feel let down.

Advanced feels playable on my HD5770, but hardcore makes it stutter much...My monitor can take 1080p, but I had to move down to 1680x1050
I have read about other 5770 users who say the performance at hardcore is good though, so I hope it may just boil down to driver conflicts

I must say that I find it hard seeing who belongs to my team and who doesn't , had been way easier if they went for the simple red vs blue team

NO INVERT MOUSE.

BURN THEM ALL ALIVE !!!

(Yes I'm annoyed, the game is smooth, good looking and the gameplay is good for what I could test.)

Well I'd love to try this but for some insane reason I can't even load a map without having to login to mycrysis, and with it having problems right now I don't think I'll get to anytime soon.
