I think AMD should now realise that a solid performing midrange part like RV570 goes a long way. Nvidia, I feel nailed this aspect for the last 2 gens.

Nice to finally get some good news for AMD. I just want all the "AMD/ATI is dying" round here junk to stop.

The desktop IGP number increasing by nearly 50% has got to go in the "good news" pile for AMD, I'd think.
I'll be very interested to see this next year if the notebook numbers shifting is a permenant shift of power, or temporary due to the power/heat advantages of G7 vs X1k. The complicating factor there tho is to what degree, if any, the shadow of Intel's displeasure and AMD's disinclination to support Intel platforms has on long-term notebook trends.

How much lead time is there on an OEM's CPU+GPU bundling deal?

I believe it's 6 months to a year. That's one reason why NVIDIA was so bullish on their notebook wins for the NEXT Intel platform (Santa Rosa) in last q's cc.

Is there any similarly clear analysis or background on what the mobile Nehalem platforms will look like? I have heard conflicting statements about there being some or not being any mobile IMC parts in that generation.
