Default Just don't do it: links to Scans, warez and innuendo & Screenshot Posting Guidelines

- Scans (or links to scans) are not only illegal but they are very poor nettiquete. If Beyond3D were a printed publication we wouldn't like to see our articles scanned either.

- If you're in this forum you like playing games. Don't deny the developers the reward of their hardwork. If you don't think a game deserves to be bought then don't play it either. Don't provide links to websites that host illegal downloads and don't try to be clever with innuendo either.

The Beyond3D moderators reserve the right to either edit posts, delete entire threads or ban repeating offenders, with no explanation provided, that fail to observe these two simple rules.

Default Screenshot Posting Guidelines

If you feel compelled by the power of your own divine righteousness to show off or demonstrate a particular game, POST YOUR BIG IMAGES IN HERE.

With the screenshot auto-resizing, people still have to download the original images, which isn't fair when people are trying to read a thread to discuss things. The easiest solution is to use URL tags. Alternatively, if your free image hosting site can auto-create thumbnails, use that if you like.

On that note, when you use IMG tags, we ask that you re-host images on a free hosting website (image shack, photobucket, etc) or your own personal internet space. You probably don't want other people stealing your internet bandwidth for every big assed screenshot....well... neither does that news site you found the images.

On the subject matter of image resolution, try to be sensible about it. A 1200p image that's over 300K (not too hard even with compression) is still not going to be acceptable. Ultimately, it's the file size that matters. A discussion thread should not be about pimping your ISP connection.
