Default Did someone post about the 60.32 leak here yet?

Typing is hard, so I'm just quoting myself from EB. (In full, no need to visit the site. In fact, please don't...we've been getting too damned popular lately. )

The details are in the above posts, the big thing is nVidia is pissed as hell about this and you can download them here at GoogleMaster's mirror.
I figured someone should mention it.

my god what pathetic lives we all lead. :P

Everyone is all worried about getting new drivers leaked that are going to be freely available in a matter of days or weeks , and in a more complete and possibly less buggy version to boot!

-_-

Though one thing.. why does Nvidia give a hoot if drivers are leaked? So long as the source code isn’t.. (though the fact that the detonators started out as open source to begin with if I’m not mistaken) I would think they would go “oh, you want to test something that we will have no responsibilities for what happens? Great! Go ahead!

NVIDIA's drivers have been lacking in that department for some 6 months

Then perhaps maybe nVidia should think about adopting ATI's strategy: new official WHQL drivers every month...and crack down on anyone leaking drivers.

I haven't heard of anyone leaking ATI drivers in EONS....there's no need. And ATI has a public beta program!

But nah...nVidia can stick to their dream of "one driver revision per year."

On a related note....what is it like for you when you wake up in the morning, and plan your day ahead?

1) Shit
2) Shower
3) Shave
4) Eat
5) What can I do to really piss of nVidia today...

These are the NV40 launch drivers.

Not a bad driver set, just don't do anything that they should do for NV3x (full trilinear toggle) and that they do have for NV4x.

These drivers seem to improve 3dmark2001SE scores (No way New nvidia drivers doin somethen to 3dmark2001SE? After the benches dropped in this demo for so long??)

Anyway whats strange is the improvements all seem to be in the CPU limited Tests,

Car Chase, Dragothic Low Detail, And Lobby Low/High Detail, But scores shoot up by like 300 points :?

Correct me if I'm wrong but did at any point did ATI remove their optimisations for 3dmark2k1? I know they were still in after they removed their 3dmark2k3 optimisations.

Not the Nature Optimisations, Nvidia didnt seem to put there Nature Score optimisations back in either.

On a Negative note, These drivers rendered Everquest Unplayable.

Currently ATI have optimizations for 3d mark 2001 nature

Currently Nvidia have optimizations for nature and atleast dragothic low maybe also dragothic high (theres conflicting information on this, neeyiks 3d analyse results show a drop in dragothic high, while stealthhawks anti detect results dont)

The sources also disagree on the level of optimizations for dragothic low, stealthawks saying 7% neeyiks saying as high as 19%

EDIT: both set ups used fx 5900s

The level of optimization for nature is in drivers greater than or equal to 45.23 comparable to ATIs level of optimization in terms of performance gain percentage wise.

EDIT: does the gain in cpu efficiency translate into improved performance in Ut2003/2004 botmatches?

Why July? Something interesting gonna happen then? I remember something about that being mentioned in the R420 might have 16 pipes thread, but I can't remember exactly.

Stealthawks report shows newer Nvidia drivers dont have Nature Optimisations in them. (Frame Rates Stay Consistent with 3d Analyze) I mean its obvious which drivers stop optimising for 3dmark2001SE, Because Nature score plummets a good 20 FPS from 52.16 drivers and ahead.

Yeah, people are actually going to be able to get the nV40 that nVidia is launching next week. (I'm implying it's going to be another loooooong interval between when nVidia "launches" the nV40 and when people can actually buy them and play them..I think that won't happen until July)

Are we talking about the same report by stealthawk?

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...chmark+inquiry

Just shows that nature optimizations are still in the 51.75 drivers. Thats with unwinders anti detect so maybe thats not what your reffering to.

Are you saying nature results then go down with the 52.16s or with drivers later than the 52.16s?

Neeyiks 3d analyse results still show the same sort of drop with the 52.16s

Thats interesting, Yes Nature scores drop immensely using the 52.16 Drivers compared to the 45.23 Drivers and older drivers, Its widely known that That 44.03 drivers increase the Score by about 20-25 FPS in Nature, Most Nvidia users use these drivers.

Looking at this chart its obvious you can see Nvidia has taken out some of its very aggressive Optimisations, Looking at the chart you can see frame rates drop upwards to 20 FPS from some driver sets, and Some AD remove like 40-45 FPS and some just remove 10 FPS,

I wish I still had my r300, I guess I could try Unwinders AD for 3dmark2001SE with my R200 and see if those optimisations are still there and just how much they affect performance.[/img]
