That and it incorrectly identified my game-depth as 16bit when I play in 32bit. I think my video was thrown into the other category as it was "Radeon 9800 Pro - Secondary" which string doesn't match any others...

Game Screen Depth
Unspecified 2,833 2.06 %
12 bpp 1 0.00 % <----------- :?
16 bpp 92,185 66.97 %
32 bpp 42,657 30.99 %
50 bpp 1 0.00 % <----------- I wonder what card this guy has

Windows Version
XP SP 1 (Build 2600) 85,607 62.19 %
XP (Build 2600) 30,654 22.27 %

Interesting that so many has XP, even when they run on old machines, though I assume the explanation is quite simple ...

Nice to see also that network speed is generally quite good.

Some Matrox cards allow you to select 12 bpp colour depth in Windows, I've seen it for myself.

Good thinking Batman

I'm suprised to see the 9800Pro anywhere near the top, (only because it's an enthusiasts card), especially when there's not an FX59xx in sight. This of course does confirm what many users have been posting on R3d complaining they have various issues running HL and ppl with FX59xx don't. heh

Fairly impressive that AMD is neck and neck with Intel. How old is this survey, exactly?

well they have a lot of comon cards missing. they have a ti200 but not a ti500 or standard geforce3, and the only pre dx9 radeon they have listed is the 9200. hopefuly they will sort that out to make the statistics more useful.

It would allmost seem like it's continually being updated, since the "this page was last updated" keeps changing.

Also looking at the page source make me think that it's being updated quite often by a script. (Or someone is [i]really[/] glad to write extremely long lines)

I wouldn't be surprised that it is being updated after a certain amount of new systems is logged into the Steam system. It's currently got 285555 unique samples, so if this goes up, we'll know hwo static/dynamic it is.

Thank you, that gives us the answer. The number I referenced btw was taken at 21:04GMT.

Too bad it has such a high "uknown" % in the videocards section. Would've been fun to see how it spread out further down.

Obviously some kind of NVIDIA card. Take a look at the driver name statistics.

nv4_disp.dll 190,610 59.68 %
ati2dvag.dll 84,110 26.32 %

NVIDIA and ATI make up over 85%(there are other ATI and NVIDIA drivers listed too, probably pushing the aggregate ATI/NVIDIA value over 90%)

ialmrnt5.dll 7,987 2.50 % <- what is this? Intel integrated?

It detected my non-hyperthreading P4 2.53 as a 1900Mhz hyperthreading supported P4.

Why the hell are they only specifying up to 1 mbit network bandwidth?? :?

I dunno how things are overseas but here in Sweden 2, 8, 10, 26 and even 100 mbit are getting common.

Still would be interesting. Heck, my cable modem gets way more than 1mbit/sec.
