Default nVidia PhysX overwrites Vantage .dll's - Results now removed from Hall of Fame

http://sg.vr-zone.com/articles/Nvidi...s%3F/5928.html

Using the nVidia PhysX driver changes some of the PPU related Vantages .dll's, which switch the PhysX calculations then on to the GF8/9/GTX GPU regardless if you have PPU installed or not. If you after this install Radeon card, you're out of luck with your PPU, it won't work, the files stay there and try to throw the PhysX stuff over to the GPU but recognizes it's not supported GPU and then CPU will take over.

They did it with a PPU *and* a Geforce. That could have been working properly all along.

Actually it seems that all the top-scores are run with 7.15.11.7735-drivers. Isn't that the one with PhysX-enabled?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that it needs both drivers and the separate nv physx driver to work

It's the 177.39 drivers that are the "PhysX" ones - the 177.35 are FM approved and since the driver policy expressly states that GPUs aren't allowed to boost the CPU test results, there's obviously no PPUGPUPHYSXGUGPUSYSOUXUXX malarky going on.

The PhysX driver can be enabled on just about any current GTX 200 display driver even earlier review builds ((and G92 boards with modded inf)). Its pretty much a seperate driver. 177.35 can have PhysX enabled on it too. With the PhysX driver.
