Default Any newer ATI drivers with the old control pannel known?

Very simple, CCC refuses to work since five releases or so. I tried all things possible, besides a Windows reinstall. I can't do a backup right now, so that will have to wait. Until then, I have a problem: the YPbPr output doesn't scale properly, so I need a way to stretch the picture to the whole screen. I know that was in the old CP, so those drivers would save my day. I'd also be thankful if you know of any alternatives, anything that works is welcome My TV doesn't offer any scaling for YPbPr unfortunately, and the PC has no DVI atm.

Have at look at NGOHQ for their latest set with the old control panel. They've hex edited the device id check in the dll to *, so should support the newer boards. Otherwise do it yourself by downloading Cat 5.12 (IIRC) & extract the control panel app. Edit the 2 reg files with the driver release string that you're using.

Seems to me there was some other way to do this as well. Digi would probably know, he lives for CCC-less ATI drivers.

If I don't need multiple display support, I usually don't install CCC. I use ATI Tray Tools instead in those cases.

I gave up on living CCC-less when I went Crossfire, but since getting the 2900XT I've been relearning all the utilities you need to use it.

_xxx_, get yourself the latest copy of RivaTuner for all your low-level needs. I'm not sure if it'll fix your YPbPr scaling output problem, but it sure has a lot more controls for things like that at the driver level than anything else I've found.

It takes a while to figure out, and since it's not made for ATi cards it can't do most of the basic control stuff like AA/AF...but that's what ATi Tray Tools by Ray Adams is for.

Well yeah, I installed both just about an hour ago and haven't found any options for this. Only for TV-out. Crazy.

Might it be because of the cheap cable? I think YPbPr is analogue, but I'm not sure.

Would a VGA->DVI adapter solve the problem? I got one or two lying about I could spare ya. The controls would be a hella lot easier at least, just like PC controls.

I'm guessing you are talking about DVI to VGA adapters there Digi, which takes the analog signal in a DVI-I output and converts that to a VGA plug. DVI to VGA transcoders are rather complicated devices that don't come cheap, so I doubt you have any just laying around.

Oh, and yeah xxx, YPbPr is analog, more comonly referred to as component video. But anyway, I'm not sure what you mean by scaling issues, though if you describe the problem better I might be able to help.

The picture is much smaller than the available screen space, there is a thick black frame around it and I can't find anything that would enable me to stretch it properly. When I increase the resolution, it stretches the picture accordingly, but it's not displayed properly then since the screen is 1366x768.

Digi, thanks but I only can use YPbPr or S-Video with this TV.

BTW I tried the old CP but as it seems it only offers scaling for "TV" (whatever output that's supposed to be since YPbPr is separate in the display options) and nothing else

I solved the problem!

I turned off 1080i in the YPbPr Display options and it seems like it made the TV turn off the (flawed) autoscaling, so I can use the native res now. Finally.
