I don't have a link, but IIRC, Seagate's new Barracuda line due this fall will be launched as both Serial ATA and old skool ATA100.

not until intel chips support them without addon chips (i think intel will have one ready next year)

of course there will be some drives/mainboard earlier, but they may be quite expensive. (especially the harddisks)

well my friend building his comp soon in a month or two
wanted to give the sata drives a try ...move away from the ribbon cables
