AVX registers will also be saved/restored on thread switches, but that doesnt mean they are part of base spec. They are an optional extension which is fully implemented.

I am sceptical that all the CPU accesses will be routed via this buffer. The CPU will heavily interfere with the rendertargets as it runs much faster and has very little overlap with the GPU data....
