I think you underestimate the upsides of the ESRAM and the Xbox memory system. It should be able to provide at least some level of help to shrink the performance gaps based on the high level specs.

I don't like the lighting/shading either. Geometry amount and animation are okay. The human head was terrible, especially the ears and the overly smooth facial features.
