Last I heard Japan and Hong Kong and Korea were allowed to be brought up but no timeline given.

And yes patsu it would be a sad day companies start doing things cause they think doing something else might piss hackers off and they fear them.

Sometimes I wonder if the social contract can survive the internet.

BoardBonobo 11-Jun-2011 09:10

Since NATO has declared that Anonymous are a threat to military intelligence and America has taken the hard line stance in declaring cyber attacks are to be classed as attacks against its sovereignty, whilst in Britain they have labelled them as very 'naughty'...

Does this mean that, in order to maintain the social contract and show a zero tolerance, we will start seeing people hanging in the Hague or on death row in America?

patsu 11-Jun-2011 09:14

Where is Darth Vader when we need him ?

I suppose in Britain those very naughty guys should get a spanking then.

And another site is cracked

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/...n-compromised/
Along with:
http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/...r-data-stolen/

This leaves those that wouldnīt trust Sony with itīs personal data down with 2 more that cant be trusted. Running out of games to play.

Fortunately Microsoft XBox Live services haven't been hacked. Plenty of games on the table to be played there.

The lulz canon was aimed at Minecraft (servers went down) and EVE Online (they took the servers down themselves) last night. Just pure destruction instead of hacking.

The worst part of this is that the hardliners may end up asking for laws that requires the ISPīs to both provide and save information that makes it much easier to catch hackers like that. I donīt think they know how much they are putting the "freedom" of the internet under fire.

That's one of the things that gets me about this. What's the point? Makes me wonder what would happen if a group of genuine hackers were waiting for these guys at some place they haven't hit yet (like Xbox Live), then backtracked and tore them to pieces.

I just don't get the point of any of it. Anonymous said it pretty clearly.. a lot of them are gamers themselves, they have no reason to go after gamers like this. And it's not about the companies, either.. if you're angry at a company, you hit them at the corporate level, you don't go after their customers. All that does is get a whole lot of people angry at you directly, not at the company.

Itīs pure vandalism, like smashing windows, burning cars etc, and the lulz group is really not about anything else. Prison awaits them.

It appears that Bioware and the CIA have been hacked as well.

EU took steps last week to hit hackers harder. Including making "bots" illegal so they can procecute the developers of botnets. Minimum punishment for "general" hacking, 2 years.

Spreading of passwords and the gathering of "illegal" data is also a crime.

I would guess they were unable to hack into either system and thus resorted to just doing as much ancilliary damage as possible.

I'm waiting to see if Steam gets hacked, that's the only online gaming source that I care about personally. Oh and potentially Blizzard as they are still too stubborn to allow their games to be sold over Steam.

SEGA Games gone from the list of "safe" games:

goonergaz 20-Jun-2011 15:30

maybe it would be easier to list what's left of the 'safe' sites ;)

BoardBonobo 20-Jun-2011 15:50

Here's a complete list of safe sites:

Here is a list of the companies which services you shouldnīt use and support since they were hacked.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/st...47&output=html

Cnet will have plenty to add to that Sheet during this year.

Silent_Buddha 22-Jun-2011 08:55

Wow, roughly half of that spreadsheet is Sony corp. I hadn't realized that the hacking of Sony was so extensive. And customer and company data is still being mined and released 2 and a half months after Anonymous hacked in.

SB
