2024 may not be kind for game developers.

You are essentially arguing just that, though. You are accepting purely on faith that the decision was a sensible one and so you're ok with it. You're not putting any of your own thinking behind it, just a 'it must be a good decision because they made it' argument. It's like the most lazy...

Make a ban bet for it if you are sure. Cuz it sounds like total made up nonsense to me. Closing an entire studio cuz their game did too well? lol "Yes, let's just shut down a great avenue for us to fix our game quality problem in the long term simply to avoid having to pay a decent one time...

2024 may not be kind for game developers.

Lack of investment has not been the cause of any of their problems, though. :/

2024 may not be kind for game developers.

By this reasoning, you can essentially argue that Xbox CAN NEVER DO WRONG. That anything they do there must be a great reason for it, therefore we cant ever criticize them for anything. You're not really explaining why closing Tango must be a good thing, you're just taking it on faith that it...

    AMD Execution Thread [2024]

I doubt anything is going to touch Apple M Macbooks for battery life. They seem so perfectly tuned for power sipping.

    RDNA4

We honestly just have to wait for details and reviews before judging what it's doing with RT. So many rumors about RDNA features and whatnot end up being quite wrong. And there's been all sorts of conflicting information on this, especially in regards to ray tracing, so we shouldn't just jump...

Digital Foundry Article Technical Discussion [2024]

Big step in the wrong direction in the fight for image/temporal stability, which I think is really important for high detail AAA visuals.

Speculation and Rumors: Nvidia Blackwell ...

Nvidia isn't going to offer better value if consumers like yourself are just going to give in anyways. Raising prices by a foot, then conceding an inch or so is not at all a 'correction', either. It's just giving us crumbs as they gorge themselves at the banquet! Proportionally, GB203 is...

All Future Sony first-party PlayStation games coming to PC

Feels like one of those 'easier to start a story than to finish it' sort of situations. Haven't played the sequel yet myself, but I'm pretty stoked to just for gameplay and presentation values and whatnot. I quite liked the semi-Souls like combat, light RPG elements, and some of the puzzle and...

Xbox is corporate. I feel like some people view Xbox as like this plucky 'lower' division in Microsoft full of 'the good guys' versus the suits, but they're not, they're a major corporate entity and Phil reports to nobody else except Satya himself. Obviously they dont have full autonomy, but...

    Switch 2 Speculation

Yep, and DLSS works reasonably well at such low resolutions. Nobody will confuse it for DLSS Quality at 4k, but again, this is still gonna be a lower priced mobile Nintendo system, not a baby PS5/XSX. I'm pretty excited for DLSS to grant developers a lot more overhead than they'd otherwise...

    Switch 2 Speculation

Right, of course. Dont know why I wasn't thinking of that, unless it'll be like how Xbox/PS allow external storage for data, but for actual XSX/PS5 titles, you need to transfer that data to the internal storage to play them. At which point that UFS3.1 might actually come in quite handy...

    Switch 2 Speculation

Well Nintendo doesn't make their own cartridge technology from the ground up, so have to rely on what else is out there. And I'm not sure there's much in the way of affordable SD technology that can get near what UFS3.1 does(2GB/s+). And I doubt Nintendo chose UFS3.1 for just OS purposes...

The future of PC gaming is hiding all the cabling mess.

Same, though it didn't take me decades to come to this conclusion. lol Worse is that you have to pay extra for special cases and parts, which also limit your options meaning you will find less deals. And then of course if you're doing all this, you also want to make sure you're using color...

    Switch 2 Speculation

DLSS + dynamic res will do a lot, yea. Also another boost for XSX/PS5 ports is that most of these games are still being built with 60fps options, meaning doing a version of them with reduced settings at 30fps should be easier and less bandwidth intensive. Overall, it's in a much better spot...
