View Full Version : SC2: Pandora Tomorrow has gone gold
Pandora Tomorrow has gone gold. Can someone tell me if they fixed shadows for ATI cards?

i was under the impression that they weren't actually broken for ati cards in the first place, they just weren't the same type as the ones used on nvidia cards (because of some wierd support thing... they used projection shadows on geforces and i don't remember the technique on all others)
so in answer to your question, i have no idea :)

buffer.. afaik..
Yes, im very interested in this too, especially because it seems that the major cause for not implementing shadow buffer algorithm on ATi cards seemed to be time constraints (combined with the far smaller ATi user base at that time - I'm thinking of this post (http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=118047#118047))

I was thinking of that myself, just couldn't find it. If it is more or less the same engine and if they wrote the shader maybe we can hava a patch for SC1.

So the shadows in PT will be in its full glory on ATI cards then I assume?

Shows you how closely I follow things, I didn't even know the sequel was that far into production, let alone finished yet :) Looks like the 23rd is the magic date in the States, and my birthday happens to be conveniently close to that..
